Monday, October 3:

Dinosaur Tying 4:00 PM: A huge Red Ribbon will be tied on the dinosaur at Dinosaur Park on  Skyline Drive. The huge ribbon is made and signed by students from various schools to show their commitment of being drug free.

Tuesday, October 4:

Mayor’s Rally at Halley 4:00 pm. The Rally will begin in the parking lot at Halley Park. Red Ribbons will be tied on the trees in Halley Park by the participants.

Thursday, October 6:

SD Natl. Guard Fly Over. Schools participating will create a drug free message outdoors by using the students.  SD Natl. Thursday, October 6:

Red Ribbon Billboard Unveiling at 3:30 pm. (Location to be announced).
Family Thrift Center and Lamar Outdoor Advertising are sponsoring a coloring billboard contest for grades K-5.  Entries are available at all Family Thrift Center locations or through your participating school.  Winner will be notified to participate in the Billboard Unveiling along with their classroom.  The billboard contest winner will also be Grand Marshall for the Red Ribbon Parade.

Saturday, October 8:

Red Ribbon Parade at 11:00 am. The parade will begin and end at South Dakota School of Mines Campus.  Participants must be lined up by 10:40 am. The parade will follow a route beginning at the O’Harra Stadium parking lot, continue west on Main St. to 3rd St., turn and come back on St. Joe to the School of Mines Surbeck parking lot for a free luncheon after the parade. A free lunch consisting of hot dogs, chips, and pop will be served. This is a community-wide event and everyone is welcome.

The Red Ribbon Parade will start at 11:00 am.  Parade participants must use a drug free message.  Awards in different categories will be presented. Entry forms may be obtained by calling ASAP @ 718-0532.  All parade entries must be returned by SEPTMEBER 23, 2011.

“Showcase Your School” Contest - Schools will fill out a documentation check list form and submit it for the final judging. If schools would like an ASAP/Red Ribbon committee member to come visit their school call ASAP at 718-0532 and someone will come visit.
